1. What is San Francisco
Host?
In the web hosting business since 1998,
San Francisco Host is a locally owned and operated company
based in the vibrant city of San Francisco. Recently re-branded
to better position itself in the marketplace, our goal is
to provide rock-solid hosting with steadfast support. We
value each and every client and prove it by providing incomparable
service.
2. Why Is San Francisco Host Unique?
San Francisco Host is unique on many levels. Knowing that the success of our
business is dependent on the success of our clients, we do whatever is necessary to keep our clients
happy and to help them thrive. Just like the individuals, artists, small-businesses, non-profits
and e-commerce entrepreneurs that are the lifeblood of San Francisco, our clients are the lifeblood
of our business.
We view each one as a long-term relationship waiting to happen and place the utmost
value on the bond that we are establishing. San Francisco Host also gives back to our community by offering discount hosting for non-profits and other qualified organizations. We strongly believe in the value of a handshake and knowing the names and faces of all our clients.
3. Who Makes Up San Francisco Host?
Max Shure is the founder and CEO of San
Francisco Host. After starting up Blue
Highway Design, Max discovered a need for a more focused and attentive approach to web hosting.
His belief is to provide our clients with a friendly and personalized
web hosting experience.
Deborah Smith, Server and Technical Support, has been working in the computer industry since 1994.
Brought on board in 2004, her responsibility is to keep the mechanics of San Francisco Host running smoothly and to see
that all customer-related technical issues are handled in a timely fashion.
Patty Warwick is our latest addition to the San Francisco Host team and she brings a lifetime of
experience in many levels of support learned while working within a large corporate environment. She is moving into both the
Technical and Billing areas of our company as we accommodate the growth and success of our client base.
4. What Types of Websites Do You Host?
Our clientele is as varied as the city of San Francisco itself, comprised mainly of small entrepreneurs and inspired individuals. We even answer the phone, a rarity for businesses in these days of telephone automation. Personal interaction with all clients allows us to understand the needs of our clients and to enjoy a stronger working relationship.
Since all our hosting customers share space and resources on multiple servers, potential clients are screened to ensure that they are a good fit. If they are not, an alternate hosting company will be recommended.
5. Is San Francisco Host Growing?
Back in 1997 we began as a web design
company. As new websites were created, it was necessary to
find hosting for them. This process was very fustrating. We
were treated to poor service, unispired hosting and very little
customer support.
Eventually we gave up depending on other
companies and decided to start a hosting company that would
appeal to people like us. We knew that there must be many
other people and small business like us that would gravitate
towards our service. We sensed that we were not alone, and believed that if we offered a more personalized, user-friendly web hosting experience then entrepreneurs, web designers, and small businesses would gravitate towards us as a hosting provider. And we were right.
6. How Does Our Customer Support Work?
Customer
support is available through the online
help desk, telephone, or
email
Monday through Friday,
from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time. In addition, technical
support personnel regularly check the help desk support
tickets during off hours, including weekends. Support tickets
are addressed promptly!
Our online Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ) section is always available and
we are obsessive about keeping it updated. We have just added new cPanel tutorials that can help you with managing your domain. That is great
place to start looking answers before you submit a support
ticket or
phone in with a question.
All servers are constantly being monitored at the Network Operations Center to ensure that everything is running smoothly. If there is a server outage, or other connectivity issues, the technical support personnel are notified immediately and begin working on a solution before most clients are aware of any problem. Technical information that affects our clients is also posted in the announcements section of the home page. Clients are notified in advance, via email, of scheduled maintenance and upgrades which may affect their websites.
